Todd Moore began his career with CONSOL Energy in May of 1980 as an intern, while attending college, at the Blacksville No. 1 mine. He worked there for 3 consecutive summers and upon graduation he began his permanent employment with CONSOL at the Blacksville No. 2 Mine. He was elevated early in his career to the position of Safety Supervisor. Moore held that position at Blacksville 2, Loveridge, Humphrey, Dilworth and Mine 84. He was then promoted into Corporate Safety where he held numerous positions overseeing safety for active mines, active prep plants, river operations, Baltimore Terminal and closed operations. 

Moore is currently the Vice President of Safety for CONSOL Energy. He has been, and continues to be, on various safety boards including the now dissolved West Virginia Mine Safety Technology Task Force, the Pennsylvania Coal Mine Safety Board and the Pennsylvania Mine Foreman Examining Board. He also serves on the Ronald McDonald House Board of Directors. 

He has served on multiple safety round tables. He serves on the National Mine Rescue Executive Committee, he served as a mine rescue team member in his early years in industry and has been a lifelong supporter of mine rescue. He is a Holmes Safety member and supporter. 

Moore has worked to aid in the development of many safety improvements including proximity detection, remote controlled dozers, Through-the-Earth communication for locating trapped miners, fresh air bays, man overboard protection for barge workers as well as helping to bring diesel equipment into underground mines in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. 

He has helped with the development of other innovations that resulted in NIOSH Mine Safety and Health Technology Innovations Award for three separate projects, Through-the-Earth communications, longwall proximity detection and scoop bucket enhancements. He has worked tirelessly to aid in US acceptance of international electrical approvals in order to open US mining up to worldwide safety innovations. 

Moore is a second-generation coal miner and has dedicated his entire career to improving coal miners’ health, safety, and training.
