Robert Bennett

Robert W. Bennett has served as executive vice president and chief commercial officer of Blackhawk Mining since 2015. Bennett was born and raised in Charleston, WV and began his career in the coal industry in 1987. In the decades since Bennett has amassed a wealth of experience holding numerous key leadership positions throughout the industry. Notably, he spent seven years at Patriot Coal including serving as senior vice president and chief marketing officer, president, and chief executive officer. Prior to Patriot, Bennett was senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Magnum coal and served as the vice president of sales and trading at Peabody Energy Corporation from 1997 to 2006. His early career included working for Enoxy, Agipcoal and Neweagle where he benefited from the experience shared by some of the industry’s legends and icons.
