Richard M. Whiting

Richard M. Whiting has served as a member of the Ramaco Resources, Inc. Board of Directors since 2016. Whiting previously served as president of Kinder Morgan Resources, LLC, a natural resource leasing company, from 2013 until 2015. Prior to his time at Kinder Morgan, he served as president, chief executive officer, and director of Patriot Coal Corporation from 2007 until 2012. Prior to the spin-off of Patriot Coal from Peabody Energy Corporation in 2007, Whiting was Peabody's executive vice president and chief marketing officer. He also previously served as president and chief operating officer and director of Peabody from 1998 to 2002. During his tenure at Patriot Coal, Whiting also served as a director of the National Mining Association, a member of NMA's Executive Committee, chairman of NMA's Audit and Finance Committee, and chairman of COALPAC. He was chairman of NMA's Safety and Health Committee from 1998 to 2002 and chairman of the Bituminous Coal Operators' Association from 1998 to 2002. He served as a director of the National Coal Council from 2014 to 2017 and he previously served as a member of the Society of Mining Engineers Foundation Board of Trustees from 2006 to 2016.
