Jason Bostic was appointed executive vice president of the West Virginia Coal Association in 2021. He started with the Association in 1998 as intern and was promoted to regulatory affairs specialist and later as vice president in 2007. Prior to joining WVCA, he worked for the largest Central Appalachian coal producer in the country as a management trainee. Bostic worked in the mining industry as a coal miner while attending West Virginia Institute of Technology. In his current position he has primary responsibility for all environmental issues related to the West Virginia coal mining industry. Bostic is also responsible for the Association's coal market and transportation research activities for domestic and export steam and metallurgical coal. He also coordinates the Association's the electronic and social media outlets as part of the industry's public outreach programs. Bostic serves as a gubernatorial appointment on seven state boards and commissions.
