E. Morgan Massey was chairman and chief executive officer of A.T. Massey Coal Company, lnc. He was the director of the Fluor Corporation from 1987-1994, director of St. Joe Minerals Corporation from 1972-1981 and founding director of Dominion Bank until 1993. Massey was involved in business activities and coal mining opportunities outside the United States and served as a chairman for the Board of Supervisors of Inter-American Coal Holding, N.V., with interests in coal mining ventures in South America and chief executive officer of Evan Energy Company, with interests in coal, oil and gas reserves. He also served as a director of Owens and Minor, lnc. Massey was awarded the Edward A. Wayne Medal of Virginia Commonwealth University of Outstanding Service to Virginia and was inducted into the Greater Richmond Business Hall of Fame in 1996, later receiving the AIME Erskine Ramsay Medal Award in 1997.
